“Asahi” is Yuma Tsukumo’s past life. During the battle of Don Thousand and Astral, Astral was split into two, thus creating a small child named Asahi. He born with the ability to see, hear and be possessed by spirits, often those attaching to him being evil (very similar to Astral’s empathy like ability). Once the Astral World’s Messenger started to visit him, the spirits who often possessed him as a child ended up leaving, only the Astral World really bothering him. They became close friends, travelling together until they ended up in an ancient temple in Brazil, where they stayed. As he got older, it was obvious that he was able to control and understand those with chaos, which is the essential element of humanity and emotion. However, Eliphas wanted his messenger to get rid of it, thus altering his programming and angering Asahi. This only made Eliphas try harder to attempt to get rid of the chaos inside their “medium”, meaning that it often left Asahi even more exposed to negative forces. The messenger attempted to abandon his care for Asahi, knowing it would hurt him, but it was hard.

Asahi set off on travelling between temples at the age of 13 per the messenger, who was determined to find Don Thousand. When bad events did happen, people blamed Asahi, stating he was a “harbinger of ruin” and a “freak”. He was often hurt instead of the true culprit, Don Thousand. Eventually, the creator of the Barians ended up getting to Asahi, trapping him and the messenger in an underground temple. Right after the two got into a fight, Don inserted a fake number into Asahi. It attacked his purity and body, harming him in a way that the messenger couldn’t fix or protect him from. Eventually, the messenger had to destroy the card, thus killing Asahi and releasing what remained of his pure soul to be reborn into Yuma Tsukumo. This created the number 00, which also ended up later being used by Yuma.

Currently, Asahi is 19, but appears to be about 15 physically. He is being pulled from the moment right before Don Thousand trapped them in the temple.

This is an Alternate Universe character and not meant to be canon. He is based from the writer's own ideas regarding Astral and Yuma once being the same being.

Appearance: Think Zexal version II, but with Yuma’s hair coloring and lack of Astral markings. He’s very similar to Yuma in expression and body, but is calmer and tends to seem very disinterested most of the time.
